3 cake weekend in '07

This particular weekend in 2007 was a pretty crazy one. I originally accepted 3 cake orders due to the fact that they were all pretty small cakes. One of them changed into a giant one for 250-300 people(all white/square one). To top it all off, the power was wiped out that morning for many hours and it affected a wide area, too! Thank goodness, I don't procrastinate when it comes to my cakes or I would have been in BIG trouble.
The cake with the red gerbera daisies and roses with the black ribbon was delivered to a beautiful house by the college and it overlooked the river.
The multi-colored flowered cake (square-round-square) was delivered to a wedding site held at Amacher Park.

Amy & Michael's baby shower cake

I am falling in love with the fondant babies I have made. I still have the one from March that I did for Traci's cake and I can't bear to get rid of this one either :-) The big sister of the impending babe wanted to eat it, but I just couldn't bear it.

The cake was chocolate and white (alternating 4 layers) with a fudge filling and buttercream frosting. A 10" and 6" with cute baby on top. Even sleeping fondant babies are precious!

Summer of 08

This cake was at the Melrose Vinyards. I believe it fed 200-250 guests. Many, many red roses placed between tiers...to many to count!

recent cakes

I love this cake topper. This was an anniversary cake.

Romantic River Gardens. Love it. Cake topper was a beautiful crystal heart with inscription.

Roseburg Country Club

Floral Building at Fairgrounds

Tilted cake

This was a ginormous cake. I believe it fed 250 people. Fun cake to make...very time consuming, but love the results. The bride chose the colors, and the groom chose a cake inspired by DUFF from Charm City Cakes (aka. "The Ace of Cakes" on the Foodnetwork)

very first Oregon Wedding cake

This wedding was my very first Oregon booked cake. Another very busy decorator ever so graciously directed the bride my way. The wedding was held at the bride's aunt's cherry orchard. The bridal party rode in on a hay wagon and the bride rode in in a vintage car. Very nice.

more 2008

These are some more cakes from 2008. Eventually, I will get these pics in chronologically, but for now...here they are in random order! The blue/yellow cake was supposed to have a flower topper and some on the tiers, but the florist didn't bring them...? For some reason, the cake is usually forgotten when it comes flower time...

The purple/white one was an interesting drop off. My daughter and I showed up to the locale and there was no one there and no doors appeared to be open. Eventually, we tried the front door hoping that there was no alarm set and thankfully, we didn't get met by a large dog, or security alarm and we just made our way to the garage where everything was set up (except the cake, of course!). No problem...just set it up, take pics and get the heck outta there! :-)

This cake was very unique in the sense that the middle tier has words written (in frosting, of course!) on the 8" middle tier. The bride sent me quotations and lovey dovey sayings that she and her groom liked and I piped them on the sides. This locale was Romantic River Gardens out in Tyee. It's a very popular place for weddings and receptions since it looks out on the Umpqua River. Very beautiful.

Some of my other cakes

Spice cake on both tiers...wedding was at Bride's families house out by the college--right on the river. Both bride and groom were in the military.
Oh, boy, it was hot the day of this wedding. When we showed up to deliver it, I think the guests wanted to jump into the pool to cool off!

Yum, chocolate covered strawberries. This cake was out at Mill Pond...very nice wedding site...very long drive! Bride brought me the picture to recreate this cake. Loved it!

MOB picked out style of cake. She had great style, too...the wedding was at her log home and it was very beautiful...at the reception, there was also a candy store table adorned with multi colored gigantic lollipops!

The pic in my profile is from one of Maggie's weddings. It was in 2008 and it was Summer & Mike's wedding out at Melrose Vinyard which is extremely beautiful. The cake fed 250 people (one of the cakes isn't shown, but it was a 14" round to look like the others...no sheet cakes!! I'm sure guests DO realize when they get a one layer sheet cake slice versus the main cake :-) Here's some of my other cakes from '08...

Wow, here we go! Finally! A place to post my cake pics. This oughta be good. A learning experience for sure. This first cake that I am posting is from August (2009) and it was Anne & Clif's wedding out at Romantic River Gardens (beautiful place!) Anne picked out the cake from a site called "pinkcakebox.com" and her theme was "Old Hollywood".
